Coach Mike Lightfoot

Mike is a graduate of Bethel College, where he also coached as the head men’s basketball coach for 30 years. He retired from coaching in 2017 and is currently the Regional Director of Nations of Coaches where he is mentoring college coaches. He also works part-time for the ACC Network. Mike has been married to his wife, Jacci, for 46 years. They have two married sons Robbie and Ryne, and two grandsons. 

 

As a coach, Mike won seven national championships, all at Bethel, and won 18 conference championships and seven National Coach of the Year honors. His career record at Bethel College was 794-285; winning 74% of his games. Coach Lightfoot surpassed Coach Bobby Knight from Indiana University with more wins than any other coach in the state of Indiana at the college level.

 

Coach Lightfoot is in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, National Small College Hall of Fame, NAIA Hall of Fame, NCCAA Hall of Fame, Bethel Hall of Fame, and Marian High School Hall of Fame.
